Fraunhofer IIS | Flagship Laser Projection and 3D Sound
The renowned Fraunhofer Institute IIS in Erlangen, Germany, has upgraded its reference screening facility with a state-of-the-art Flagship Laser D-Cinema projection and immersive audio solutions from Barco (Auro 3D) and Dolby (Dolby ATMOS), among others. For this purpose, Kinoton supplied and installed a fully integrated laser-based 4K 6P 2D/3D Flagship D-Cinema projection solution and immersive audio technology. Kinoton was also in charge of the commissioning, the overall systems networking and the calibration of the immersive audio systems.
With the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft being one of Germanys famous associations for groundbreaking scientific research, the Fraunhofer Institute IIS in Erlangen develops new audio-visual technologies and systems also for digital cinema. The developments and products address all aspects of production workflows from image capturing to distribution.
In close cooperation with partners from the film and TV business, the IIS works on solutions that will offer the audiences new forms and levels of entertainment in the future.
